XA GT RPO 83 Sedan

One of the most desired of all Aussie Muscle Cars. The RPO 83 was Fords "Top Secret"
Homologation special. After the demise of the Phase 4 project, Ford needed to use up it's supply of high performance race parts, which had to be used on at least 250 publicly sold vehicles. So the XA GT RPO 83 was the car. Although not offically recognised at the time as being anything special, now 33 years on they are finally being regarded in a similar light to the legendary GTHOs, as in spirit at least these RPO 83s are a Phase 4.

Although the homologation special parts varied from car to car, options included:

4V heads
Manual Choke 780 Holley
31 Spline 9" diff

1973 XA Falcon GT RPO 83

Body: Genuine original body!!!!
Good condition. Original Calypso green (1 of only 5 RPO 83 sedans in calypso green)
Resprayed Emerald green in 1980 (paint ok, but personally we would return it to original)
All panels are original and have evidence of Calypso green under current paint.

Minor rust in door corners and rear of sill, usual places, but all very minor, rust only just starting.

Stored in shed for 25 years.

Last registered in 1999 (driven 5 times)
Previous rego was 1981 (first rego after being resprayed)


Engine:351, mild cam, holley, alloy intake manifold, extractors

Gearbox: Factory top loader 4 speed

Diff: 9" Disc brake
Original Finned drum 9" 3.0:1 included (was pulled out as previous owner WAS going to fit lower gears).

Suspension and brakes: All original, seams to drive and stop ok
We would suggest checking everything though as car has not been driven for 7 years.

Interior: Retrimmed in black and green velour in 1980

Dash has genuine 47,000 Miles.
Correct RPO 83 top guages (half XA, half XB).
Gauges are in awesome condition, with very good chrome and very clear lenses,
possibly the best we have ever seen
